In this edition of the saintly scribe:

- Chapter 21 keeper is live, and Chapter 22 news!!!
- BS up for Best Story at Brazil Net Festival - VOTE FOR US!!!
- Saints at Sundance Update!!!
- New and Improved BS Soundtracks!!!
- Site updates, new server, Benefit Concert poop, and more!!!
- Big Summer Contest Winners go live this week!!!
- More from Broken Links and Best of the Guest!!!

Ok gang - the rubber gloves are on. Time to do some business... ;)

CHAPTER NEWS!!!

Primary artwork on the 22nd installment in the saga is complete, and we're well into post-production with Andrew doing some last-minute polishing and Ian prepping everything for Flash. Will it be finished before 2003? Absofreakinlutely!!! Will it be done in time for Christmas? Well...let's just say that we'd love to leave more than a lump of coal in your virtual stocking this year ;) It's really too bad that previews would give away too much at this point...22's gonna be a stunner.

Of course, we have to give you SOMETHING to tide you over - so the downloadable KEEPER of Chapter 21 is now live! Grab all three parts of this much-discussed (and some say 'maligned') episode and give it a few more run-throughs with a fine-toothed comb...there are hints and foreshadowings galore in this one, kiddies.

BS up for BEST STORY in BRAZIL!!!

Looks like it's voting time once again, saints! This is the first of several calls-to-arms, as we'll also need you when voting begins for the online part of the Sundance festival (expect a reminder mail early next week!). But right now, we need your vote at Brazil's Net Festival 2002:

LINK

Just go to the site, click on the "English" button (or whatever tongue you can easily navigate!), and register to vote. We've been nominated in the STORY category - a prize we have yet to claim at any festival thus far - so if you can spare a few minutes and want to help BS get the rub, we'd be infinitely grateful! We have until December 15th to turn this in our favor...so what are you waiting for!!! :)

SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL IN JUST OVER A MONTH!!!

Chapters from BS will be live at the online portion of the festival from December 16th until early January - we'll be posted in the New Forms category, and competing with 9 other projects from around the world. Then, come January 15th, the BS crew will be taking a 26hr bus ride down to Park City, Utah for more than a week at the snowy mecca of independent film! The goal is to spread the saintly gospel to the hungry Hollywood sharks in the hopes that some enlightened producer or studio will see the cinematic/broadcast potential of the series. If ever there was a chance to get the message echoing on a mass scale, this would be it!

Many humble thanks for the kind donations that have been pouring in from around the world, especially at a time of year traditionally reserved for personal shopping ;) With some maxxed-out credit cards and your incredible support, we should be able to cover our bandwidth for another month AND secure some basic lodging in the mega-priced resort enclave of Park City. Also, an extra-special thanks to our old pals at Switch Interactive LINK for helping us to prepare for the big event: from press and funding contacts to heaps of promotional swag, we couldn't make an impact without them!!!

We'll keep you posted as to any last-minute developments or guerilla marketing strategies. Oh...and you can bet your bonnet that we'll have a camera recording the madness for eventual inclusion on the BS-DVD set! (Yes...you can be the first to witness the three-way beating of People Magazine's Sexiest Man Alive ;) )

BROKEN SAINTS SOUNDTRACKS - A Better Way!!!

We hate Ampcast. Tobias hates Ampcast. And from the sounds of it, a lot of you who ordered the BS Soundtracks have no love lost for Ampcast either. The solution? We're going the homemade route!!! Tobias-the-music-man-Tinker will be mixing and manufacturing the discs HIMSELF in order to bypass the middle man and send you a higher-quality product :)

How will it work? Well, you can get the goods by sending us a donation (preferably through Paypal, but snail mail works too) with your address and CD request included in a follow-up e-mail to:

info@brokensaints.com and tobias@brokensaints.com.

We'll then pass the info and the $ over to T in Berlin and he'll send you the sonic sweets fresh off the press in super-duper high-quality. Clickety-click...talk about slick, and just in time for the holidays!!!

The discs are priced at $15US for one or $25US for both - and that's with shipping and handling INCLUDED!!!

SITE UPDATES, CONCERT NEWS, AND MORE!!!

- we transferred to a new server in Texas this week (gasp...Bush country!!!) and things are running pretty smoothly. Big ups to ol' Simon Kirby for making sure the switch was like butter, baby. The forum should be loading faster too - and most importantly, we're saving big bones on bandwith. Aces!

- BS Benefit Concert 3 is confirmed for January 11th with Headwater, Masefield, Perfect Strangers, and Surefire on the bill. We're working on a free LIVE webcast of the event (thanks to the school where Brooke teaches) so everyone can join in on the fun - maybe even a live chat too LINK in case you haven't checked it out before). As soon as we know more, you'll know more...oh, and if you're eager to see some footage from the last show, maybe you should get around to earning that B.T.S. password ;)

- Any thoughts on a BS office webcam? We were toying with the idea of letting fans scope out our malnourished asses at their leisure (we'd probably refresh once a minute or so). We have the technology. We CAN do this. But do we want to? Any experienced cam-heads out there want to toss us some set-up and execution suggestions?

BIG SUMMER CONTEST WINNERS TO BE ANNOUNCED!!!

The judging's nearly locked, folks. The 10 finalists in the battle to determine who will win a 'speaking role' in Chapter 23 of Broken Saints have been chosen. Starting this weekend, we'll be showcasing a winner a day for 10 days on the BS CONTEST page (go through PLEDGE, or shoot straight to LINK. The first week will be the posting of our five 3rd place winners, followed by four days of our three 2nd place winners and one 1st place winner. We'll make a special announcement before the unveiling of our lone Grand Prize winner just in time for Santa.

So if you entered (or you're simply kicking yourself for not entering), be sure to drop by the site this weekend for the big unveiling! May we have the envelopes please... :)

BROKEN LINKS (when you're too sick to click the BS schtick - here's something new to pick!)

First things first, we apologize for including an incorrect link and excluding a promised one. The good news? We remember the url for the bad link LINK. The crap news? We forget the url to the wicked euro news/political network for youth that we promised to include last time. (so if you're the webmaster of said site and are fuming while reading this, please forgive us! Just send the link again and we'll include it in next week's mailer).

Now then...it's linkie time:

LINK Might as well get you accustomed to going here now :) Here's the repository for last year's Sundance Digital Film Festival, so you can get an idea of the kind of company we're keeping. We're still working on our animated BIO for the site, but as of now we'll be showcasing our trailer, Chapter 20, and maybe even Chapter 1 (for perspective).

LINK Normally we wouldn't re-link someone, but our pals at GNN will be joining us down at the 'Dance with their excellent work on Eminem's Flash-only video - "White America". An Eminem video worth watching? Trust us...this one's more than a little political (and the site recommends it for mature viewers).

LINK We've been playing this game in the forums for a few weeks now (thanks yet again must, begrudgingly, go out to Mr American for the link). Which socio-political quadrants do you fall into. A future Churchill? Gandhi? Pol-Pot? Here's where they'll recruit you from...

BEST OF THE GUEST (nudges and winks from the glorious and ghastly BS Guestbook)

>From GOKU (parts unknown): "It was ok...i got lost." (Brooke's note: "I'm sure you did Goku...just like you got lost in Kamimura's SOUL JAR...Bwahahahahaha! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!! Umm...err...sorry. *blush* )

>From CARNIVORACIOUS (Littleton, COLORADO): "My tears continue to stream into my smile..." (Brooke's note: "The simplest words are often the most profound. Thank you."

That's all for this one, kiddies. We're hoping to power through Flash placement this week and get into dialogue and audio early next week. Wish us luck, spread the good word, and send us a dose of lovin' vibeliness :)

Happy Holidays and Word is Bond!!!
